Getting The Best Out of Me & Others
According to Feist & Barron*, social and emotional abilities are four times more important than IQ in determining professional success and prestige, and are therefore critical for the success of any organisation.
Enhancing Emotional Intelligence (what Daniel Goleman** called "The effective awareness, control and management of one’s own emotions, and those of other people") should not be left to chance and that's why we offer our workshop 'Getting The Best Out Of Me & Others" to help enhance social and emotional intelligence.
The workshop is built on a behaviour model (DISC) that came out of Harvard University c/o psychologist William Marston and explores the following objectives to enhance social and emotional abilities:
-
How can I quickly and easily understand more about myself AND others?
-
How can I develop even better working relationships with colleagues?
-
How can I enhance my leadership and teamwork?
Attendees often comment that it helps them to understand how to understand more about their own strengths and struggles, adapt their communication style (to get the best out of others), and build stronger teams and succession plans.
We can also tailor this workshop to your specific needs, for example, it is not uncommon to be asked by schools to also focus objective two (above) on pupils, and by companies to also focus on customers.
We know from experience that attendees find the 75-minute workshop very informative, pragmatic and for some quite life changing (we meet people years after who still remember and use what they have learnt). In addition, and unlike some professional development, this workshop is highly engaging and fun too - making it a great addition to any training programme.

"Super engaging session,
absolutely loved it, and
probably the biggest take away
for me was learning how
different people interact.
It's already been helpful in our
day to day in terms of teamwork and how we interact with each other.
I would highly recommend it."
Account Director, Food Steps
"It was a very fun and
engaging session
and I thought it was interesting to learn how we relate to other people and the best way to
communicate with different people."
Marketing Manager, Food Steps
"It was really great training to
learn about my own personality
and also the rest of
the people on the team,
and I feel what I can takeaway
is how I can best adapt
my communication style
to get the best out of my team".
Operations Manager, Food Steps

"Your communication is only as good
as your understanding of the person
you're communicating with."
