Developing a Culture of Continuous Improvement

The adoption of a systematic model for monitoring / evaluation / (self) assessment and improvement is a key requirement of Ofsted and another recurring theme in feedback. A 1997 study of 31 public-sector managers by Baruch College researchers Gerald Olivero, K. Denise and Richard E. Kopelman found that a training programme alone increased productivity 28 percent, but the addition of follow-up coaching to the training increased productivity 88 percent. With this in mind, this workshop focuses on COACHING and helps staff explore:

  • What are the secrets of coaching?
  • How do I use coaching skills to help my peers enhance teaching and learning?
  • How can coaching be used for systematic, sustained improvement?
  • What could we do to help embed a ‘coaching culture’ at our school?
  • What actions do I commit to take now and in the future?
